My Favorite Skincare Products of 2020

I can’t believe 2020 is FINALLY coming to a close. While this year has been exhausting, stressful and left nothing to be desired, I made some great purchases this year for sure! I’ll be sharing all of my 2020 favorites in the coming weeks, but wanted to start with SKINCARE! It’s no secret that I am obsessed with skincare products and tools, and I feel like I found some really great goodies this year. Lots are from my beloved Beautycounter, but some are other gems I have been LOVING! I hope you find this post helpful, and stay tuned for more 2020 favorites roundups going live soon!

Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm: I am new to the world of cleansing balms, but am so glad I gave them a try! I wanted to start with this one from Farmacy! I started with their mini size, but was immediately hooked. I haven’t had an issue with this breaking me out or causing any eye irritation. It does a great job at removing all makeup (including mascara)! Highly recommend

Beautycounter Overnight Resurfacing Peel: No favorites roundup would be complete without including the Counter+ Overnight Resurfacing Peel. It is no secret that I am OBSESSED with this product, and it has made such a positive difference in my skin! It is my favorite Beautycounter product and seems to be a top seller among my clients…and for good reason! Apply after your cleanser and toner as your 3rd “treat step” and let it sit on your skin for 3-5 minutes while the blend of active ingredients do their magic on your skin before applying your moisturizer. You leave this product on overnight (as the name suggests), but it does not peel (which is confusing based on the name!). I noticed an immediate difference in my skin after the first night trying it!

Sulphur Ointment: I’ve been using this Sulphur Ointment for my acne as well as perioral dermatitis for about a year now and am completely hooked. It has made SUCH a difference in keeping my acne at bay, and has been really great at drying out pesky milia that I’ve gotten for 5+ years on my chin. I use it almost daily per the instructions. It can cause drying so make sure to follow up with a great moisturizer after using. Highly recommend and you CANNOT beat that price!

Beautycounter Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion: Piggy backing off of my moisturizer comment above, this is the moisturizer both Yale and I use every single day! I used to use Vanicream lite lotion, but its ingredients weren’t the best. This has been the perfect swap for my sensitive, acne-prone skin. It contains a little bit of salicylic acid which helps fight and treat breakouts, which I love! Highly recommend the entire Countermatch line if you have sensitive, normal or combination skin!

Beautycounter Countermatch Refresh Foaming Cleanser: Speaking of Countermatch, this is one of my favorite Beautycounter cleansers! It is gentle, makes my skin super soft and smells like almondy heaven! I am obsessed and have had zero issues with it and my sensitive skin! I cannot recommend the Countermatch line enough! It is all SO good!

Odacite Bioactive Rose Gommage: This product is a favorite for when I am dealing with painful, hormonal breakouts and need to treat myself to a “spa day”! I use this as the first step in a mask routine, because it helps soften skin and provides gentle exfoliation. I use it as a spot treatment or all over as a mask. Typically I use this, then the sulphur ointment as a mask and then the charcoal mask (below) if I am dealing with really bad breakouts or cysts. It also smells like roses, which I love!

Beautycounter Charcoal Facial Mask: This product is a fan favorite, and for good reason! It is my favorite part of my Sunday evening routine. I use a Flat Complexion Brush to apply the mask all over, and let it do it’s magic! Within 10-15 minutes the mask will dry and you will literally see it pull gunk out of your skin! It is wild, and obviously I am totally hooked. I use this 1-2 times a week, depending on how my skin looks and if I’m breaking out!

Beautycounter Counter+ Charcoal Cleansing Bar: I have to admit, for awhile I just used a bar of Dr. Bronners on my face as my “cleanser” when my skin was going through some major issues just a few months ago. Now I know that this probably wasn’t the best for me, since it really dried my skin out. Enter: the Charcoal Cleansing bar! This was the perfect solution for me because I feel it really helps deep clean my skin when I am breaking out! Even Yale uses it (he has been a longtime Cetaphil facial bar guy!). I use the Countermatch cleanser daily, but this when I am breaking out!
