Things I'm Loving: Vol. 2

Happy Thursday! I hope you’re enjoying this little Things I’m Loving portion of the blog. It’s meant to be a less-frequent play on my old “Monthly Favorites” section. This gives me the chance to share a number of products I love as I develop a list, rather than finding things or buying too much each month. That said, right now I’m loving a lot of fun things!

Enjoy!

Sheep Inc Light Knit: I’ve been talking about Sheep Inc. for the past year, and continue to love their products. Their Light Knit in Desert Sand is my latest addition to my collection, and it might be my favorite. The lightweight material is great for everyday wear, and the soft merino wool couldn’t be cozier. I wear a size 1 in the lightweight knit, while I prefer a size 3 in the medium weight! Totally just preference, but I wanted this to be a closer fit. I’m eyeing the Lupin Lilac next!

Farallon Wide Leg Crop: You know what pairs nicely with my beloved Sheep Inc sweater? These incredible wide leg crop pants. I purchased these in hopes they’d replace a similar red pair I’ve owned for years, and they might be even better. Perfect for lounging in the day, or dressing up a little at night. I am obsessed. Since I’m tall and don’t typically like cropped pants on my legs, I wear a size 4 Tall.

Sheerscreen Sunscreen: If you’ve been following me for any time at all, you know I am pretty religious about sunscreen. I had a mole removed from my stomach a few years ago, and it was enough to scare me away from the sun as much as possible. Plus, I want my skin to remain youthful for as long as possible, and am simply not interested in botox yet. Enter the easiest prevention solution: sunscreen. I am loving this new mineral-based formula from Supergoop. It has minimal white-cast, rubs in nicely, is dimethicone-free, and fragrance-free. It has not caused me to break out!

Rose Geranium Essential Oil: I heard that applying rose geranium essential oil can be used as a good tick-repellent or deterrent. Since I am petrified of ticks, I’ll do anything, but non-toxic remedies are preferred, of course. So far, this has been working well for me. What I do is apply a few drops of oil on my sneakers prior to going for a long walk in the woods. I am apprehensive to apply this to Buzz, so check with your vet prior to doing so (essential oils can be really dangerous for dogs in many cases). My parents property is FULL of ticks, and now that it is summer, I’ll be getting this for my mom to drop onto her shoes too. Since I’m not applying the oil directly onto my skin, I’m less concerned about the brand, but if you are applying the oil to your skin, I recommend DoTerra, Young Living or NOW Foods. But make sure you dilute the oil first.

Sister Parish Designs Fabrics: I’ve been LOVING all things from Sister Parish lately, but especially their fabrics. I’m working with Dulcie Smith Interiors to add some fun new pillows to our bedroom and living room, and have been particularly inspired by the Sister Parish samples she sent as well as I ordered. Thinking of adding pillows in either the Appleton fabric or Chou Chou. But they’re all so gorgeous!

Sun hats: I am all about sun hats and sunscreen as the weather warms up. I am planning to do a sun hat roundup, but this hat will forever remain a favorite of mine. It is comfortable, reasonably priced, has a perfect brim (IMO), and is just super cute! Mine is over a year old and has held up nicely, but I am tempted to purchase another while they’re still in stock. HIGHLY recommend!
